2021.12.06 20:33 MSFTRKTANDSPY Feeling extremely discouraged over my inability to get a job
Just needed to make a post to vent about my life these past few months. I’m currently an MSF student at a top ranked program. I have probably sent out hundreds of job applications over the past few months. Out of all of them, I have received two replies. It has been extremely discouraging for me to go through this entire process and basically get no feedback. I’m a good student - 3.5 UG, 3.6 Master’s. I was a division one football player as well. I have some WE as a project management intern and have been a part of numerous leadership activities. Yet, time and time again I have received no leads on any jobs at all. I don’t really know what I want to do - but I really like finance. It’s really interesting to me and I want to become an expert in the field. However, I can’t get any traction in any area and it sucks. To make matters worse, I have seen all my classmates accept incredible job offers while I have gotten pretty much nothing. I don’t know what to do anymore. I am terrible at networking, and I am sick of seeing my resumes go in these black holes because I don’t know how to interact with people or ask for a referral or whatever. I feel really discouraged and don’t know what to do. It might be too early to panic, but the content and inevitable rejection is becoming overwhelming on top of my studies.

Hey guys, I'd like to try something with you. I want Felix Nmechas price to raise to 2k. He's a english player from the Bundesliga. There are only a few Cards of him on the Market. If everybody buys 2 or 3 cards of him and offers him for 2k+ Coins we can create a monopol and control his price. Goal: Many People take part in the project and we buy all Cards to the price of 2000 Coins. Not much work for each of you and hopefully a little profit. BTW i'm not invested in his Card and would take part in Players you're interested in!

2021.12.06 20:33 ric_11 Let's talk longevity! In its current state, for how long do you see yourself playing the game before moving on?
I LOVE the game, way more than I expected. I thought I'd spend 10-15 hours while taking breaks from other games and I've now been fully invested and will probably even make it to the 100h mark.
However the game is still buggy (but getting fixed at a nice pace!) and the town building mechanics, while a lot of fun, is hindered by the decoration limit. I'd love to decorate the districts further but there's just so much I can do with 20 decorations...
What are your thoughts? :) I'd gladly pay for DLC if it means adding more content, more districts, more everything!
In its current state, I'd probably stop playing at around 100h max.

2021.12.06 20:33 Arc_the_lad Ego, The Grandmaster, The Collector, and Buri (Odin's grandfather) were all renegade Celestials.[Thor trilogy/GotG1&2/Eternals ]
Theory: Ego, The Grandmaster, and Buri (Odin's grandfather) were Celestials in arrested development while The Collector was a dying one. Galactus will be a Celestial too.
Two flavors of Celestials exist in the MCU. In GotG2, we saw Ego was a massive brain wrapped within a humongous head-shaped planet, but he had a humanoid avatar and the two were one being. Ego informed us that he was indeed a Celestial. However, GotG1 had introduced us to Eson the Searcher showing us what a right proper Celestial looked like and Eternals confirmed the mountain-sized armored version was the typical Celestial. So both classical Jack Kirby Celestials and planet Celestials with a just human embodiment exist in the MCU.
The planet Celestials are not quite done baking. Per Eternals, the Celestials reproduce by seeding planets with a Celestial and then indirectly rear the intelligent life on the world like cattle in order to feed it. Once that intelligent life reaches a certain energy threshold, a new Celestial emerges form the planet, destroying it in the process.
Ego - He lacked the gargantuan body of a normal Celestial. He also had no recollection of how he came to be, he had just simply always been there as a giant brain. That brain learned to manipulate matter and construct a planet around itself for protection. However, the planet had no intelligent life on it, so it never reached the energy threshold necessary to birth him into his full potential. As such, while he had godlike powers, he was stunted and limited to interacting with others in his self-created humanoid form.
The Grandmaster - In Thor's Willa Wonka-esque introduction to The Grandmaster during Ragnarok, we were told that The Grandmaster was the creator of Sakaar. Not simply the founder, not the owner, not the ruler, but the actual creator of the planet. Just as Ego's brain slowly cobbled together a planet for himself over millenia, apparently The Grandmaster did the same thing. Just as Ego was also The Living Planet, The Grandmaster was also Sakaar. Sakaar did have intelligent life though, the insectoid Sakaarians. However, The Grandmaster was a libertine and his emergence would have halted the never-ending party that was his life. He prevented it by farming out the intelligent life as a mercenary army to Ronan (during his quest for the orb) and replacing them with a small number dregs pulled from other worlds he used to entertain himself. The constant influx of trash that poisoned the environment also destroyed any chance of the immigrant populace ever being able to create enough energy to cause the emergence because they'd be too busy just trying to survive the day.
Buri – Odin's grandfather has only been referenced in the MCU and never been seen, but if the MCU tells us that Ego, who is a freaky-looking planet with a humanoid avatar, is a Celestial and the MCU tells us that the freaky looking Sakaar was created by The Grandmaster (which is essentially Ego's origin story, so he must be a Celestial too), then the last freaky-looking planet which we know as Asgard was probably also created by some godlike space being. And as Asgard is so small, it too never reach the energy threshold to create a proper Celestial body, thus Buri was limited to a life lived through a humanoid vessel like Ego and The Grandmaster.
Past its expiration date. If Ego, The Grandmaster and Buri are essentially half-baked Celestials, then The Collector is a Celestial on its deathbed. In GotG1, we are told that Knowhere is the decapitated head of a proper Jack Kirby Celestial. That Celestial was Taneleer Tivan The Collector. The Collector's power was greatly reduced after his body had been denoggonized and with the little he had left, he created and maintained a human form, trapped within his old head, selling off pieces of himself in a morbid race against time seeking a means for revenge.
Birds of a feather. What's something all the Celestials have in common?
Generic yet grandiose titles. Eson THE SEARCHER, Arishem THE JUDGE, Hargen THE MEASURER. How about Ego THE LIVING PLANET, En Dwi Gast THE GRANDMASTER, Taneleer Tivan THE COLLECTOR, and Buri THE ALL-FATHER?
A female right hand man. The Celestials left Ajaks in charge of the Earth mission. Ego had Mantis, The Grandmaster had Topaz, The Collector had Carina.
Other proof all four were Celestials.
Ego – He literally told us he was one. He's millions of years old.
The Grandmaster – The Grandmaster also stated he was millions of years old. The interior design of his palace and his palace guard were decked out in a general motif reminiscent of the Celestials. His status as a Celestial also explains why he was so nonchalant and unperturbed about being surrounded by a mob of revolutionaries looking to kill him at the end of Ragnarok and how he survived the encounter to return in Thor 4. If he had been killed, Sakaar could simply have generated a new body the way Ego did when Quill blasted his original one to pieces.
Buri – In GotG2, Ego told Quill that since he was of Celestial blood, Quill was also immortal so long as the planet remained intact. In Ragnarok, Odin told Thor that Hela drew where power from the planet. Thor had to resort to destroying Asgard in order to defeat Hela. Sound familiar? That's exactly what the Guardians had to do to stop Ego. Hela (and Odin and Thor and all the Asgardians) was of Celestial blood through Buri. When Surtur annihilated Asgard, he also killed Buri.
The Collector – This flamboyant white-haired dandy maintained a vast and priceless treasure trove inside a mining colony that GotG1 told us had no laws and no one ever tried to relieve him of it? Ronan's landing party practically landed right on top of the building that housed The Collector's treasure room, so it wasn't like Knowhere's gateway defenses were much of a deterrent. Yet, no Ravagers, no invading army from a galactic empire, no space vikings, no real Vikings, nobody ever came for it. Why not? Because word on the space street would have been that every who actually did attempt to were obliterated via the godlike powers he had, we just never saw them. Look at Carina's desperation. Forced into slavery, she had access to the whole collection which included a Dark Elf, a Chitauri and a Frost Giant. She could have set them free on him and killed him that way. There were any number of items from the collection she could used to do Tivan in...if he had been a normal man. Carina knew wouldn't be free until he was dead, but because she knew he was a Celestial, she would need something with firepower the magnitude of the Power Stone to make it happen. With nothing to lose but her life which was already a slave, she took her shot when she realized what the orb held inside it. Finally, there's the Asgardians who were so utterly convinced that this same dandy would be able to keep the a doomsday grade weapon safe, they gave the Aether to him. He's obviously far more powerful than he looks.
All four were Celestials who had gone rogue.
Ego – It's all in his name. He's a narcissistic heretic who doesn't truck with mainline Celestialism because it's not centered around him. The Celestials hop from one world to another seeding, fostering the intelligent life so that the Emergence can occur, obliterating the planet and bring forth a new Celestial. Ego did the exact same thing. He went from planet to planet, seeding them with himself so that the Expansion could occur, obliterating the planet and bring forth more him.
The Grandmaster – Likewise, The Grandmaster wasn't down with the Celestial lifestyle, preferring the hedonistic lifestyle his avatar led. Thus, he squirreled himself away in a little corner of the universe that was hard to get to and near impossible to leave because he was trying to hide from the other Celestials (specifically Galactus). An attempt at camouflage explains why Sakaar was kept buried in garbage. His name implied he was a great strategist and this was one of those plans that was so dumb it was guaranteed to work. This also explains why he was so upset at losing the Hulk. He had lost a personal champion with the ability to defeat gods (Loki) and fight mountain-sized monsters (Surtur), someone who could defend help him against the other Celestials if needed. After all, the Celestials aren't omnipotent, as per GotG1, Eson the Searcher needed the Power Stone to destroy planets.
Buri – He too broke with the Celestial system in favor of one that glorified himself. He created Asgard just big enough to support intelligent life, but too small for them to create enough energy for an Emergence, peopled it with his own progeny (Ego-style), and initially led them directly as his humanoid avatar to built them up into a mighty nation. Then he retired to life as an idyllic space island paradise decked out in gold as he watched his son Bor, his grandson Odin, and great granddaughter Hela slowly conquer the universe in his name. He would live forever so long as the Asgardian bloodline endured which is why Odin told Thor that Asgard is not a place, it's a people. Asgardians are supposed to be small-g gods which is what Ego described himself as.
The Collector - He dedicated his life to collecting specimens and artifacts of from all of creation. Yet, obtaining one Infinity Stone is not enough for him. He wanted the whole set. Why? Because he sought to restore himself to full power and take revenge on the one who beheaded him. He was in a severely weakened state, relying on an intermediary he set up, the Tivan Group, to mine and trade in his own Celestial brain matter in a desperate gamble to finance his attempts to acquire the Stones. It was working too. The Asgardians brought him the Reality Stone and Quill brought the Power Stone to him.
Galactus will be a Celestial. When he finally shows up in the MCU, Galactus the Devourer of Worlds will also be a Celestial. (Grandiose yet generic title? Check. Celestial uniform? Check. Female right hand? Yes, more than one in the comics. Destroys planets? Check.) He is job will be to seek out and destroy the failed half-born Celestial planets renegades.
If Asgard was a Celestial, why didn't Thor lose his power when it was destroyed? He's Celestial-blooded on his father's side, but he's witch-blooded on his mother's side. His powers are from his mother's side which is why they paled in comparison to Hela's which were from her father's Celestial side. Loki's powers were also imparted to him by Friga and in Ragnarok, Odin told them Friga would be impressed with his magic, but Odin was still eventually able to overcome it (because his superior power stems from his grandfather's Celestial blood too).
Why could Heimdall could still communicate with the All-Fathers after the planet had been destroyed? Because he's witch-blooded too. He has a relic - the Bifrost Bridge sword. He always had the power to channel "the dark magic" himself the same way he could always magically see everyone. Him asking the All-Fathers for the ability use the dark magic one last time was a mere ritualistic formality.

2021.12.06 20:33 catsinbananahats Should I tell my friends about this guy or should I wait?
I'm gonna see these friends I haven't seen in a while soon and there's something I've wanted to tell them for months.
The thing I need to tell them is about a guy who is very charismatic and pretty much loved by everyone. He's the top of the food chain in the church group pretty much. The person above him is the pastor who I've never even talked to before. He's the person you're supposed to go to if a guy is being weird.
I was 20 and he is 26. He told me men are natural boundary crossers at a meeting where we were talking about how to be good leaders in the church. On a different occasion, he touched my thigh, if in a more patronizing way than a sexual way.
That made me feel weird, not quite harassed, but weird.
The girls in my church group have helped me deal with creepyish men before so I trust them it's just that everyone loves this guy.
